Drop the Weasel at Monmouth Show 30.08.12
On Thursday Drop the Weasel set up shop at Monmouth Show. It was a tiring day but a brilliant one with thousands of people passing by.
Here's the Drop the Weasel stand ready for our visitors to arrive.
It's all looking cheery and colourful to try and tempt people to come and say hello.
I managed to create some last minute brooches for the day. I like the way they look displayed on this old plate.
My peg girls are always popular. Can you see the only little peg man tucked away in the middle?
Handmade tiny paper bunting all in a row.
I realized two days before the show that I didn't have a name banner of any sort so I quickly painted one. The lettering is a bit wonky but it stands out.
Felt brooches.
My niece Imogen makes jewellery so she had a section of the stand too. She did really well which has given her the boost to create more...she's only 11 years old!!
This is the moment just before the gates opened. Everyone is adding the last minute touches to their sands.
I managed to have a quick walk about to see some of the action.
The children's entertainer was really good, although you wouldn't know it from this photo!
This guy was showing everyone how to make cider, I love his outfit.
There were animals everywhere.
The local bee keepers were popular inside their netted enclosure.
The horses were absolutely beautiful.
Look at these tiny ones, how cute are they!
This is the moment at the end of the day when all the winners of all the classes received their well deserved trophies. It was quite a sight to see.
looks like you had a great day. The stall looked good, I hope you did well. Didn't the brooches look good in that frame! and such a tiny horse! Heather x
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, we had a lovely day. The brooch frame came out quite well but it was a bit of a pain to space them out evenly. The really tiny horse had a really tiny voice too - cute x
