Wooden Brooches

I've been feeling very creative lately so I'm riding the wave and making, making , making before the creative urge wears off.

The latest project is hand painted/drawn wooden brooches. Some have the conventional brooch pins attached to the reverse and some have vintage curtain pins that I picked up at a local bric-a-brac sale about 2 years ago, the curtain clip ones hang like little medals.

At the moment the little wooden pieces have been attached with wire because I ordered the wrong size rings, but as soon as the correct ones come through the post they'll be finished off properly.

These are awaiting attachment...

I've also been experimenting with more colour on these brooches.

(in answer to your question some bits for my sister to sell on her craft stall in Cornwall and tea cosies - aim is to use up some of the wool I have in my stupidly large stash!!)

    1. They are going in the shop, as soon as the little attachment rings turn up. I've been really lazy with the shop lately so I need to kick myself up the bum and get going!

Show us some photo's of what you've been up to :)

  5. They are all beautiful! They almost look like ceramic - you must have a steady hand and a thin paintbrush! I too love the old pins.
