Goodbye to 2010 and hello to 2011

Well we're almost at the end of 2010, yes blink and you will have missed it!

For me it's been a bit of a 'nothing' year really. I started the year newly single after 6 years of being in a couple and relishing the thought of going it alone and doing things my way, and I suppose that's what I've been doing.
I've moved my house renovation on significantly and sold more and more of my work which always gives me a thrill but on the whole the majority of this year has seen me putting in extra hours at work to get the funds to pay for builders and materials, not exactly exciting stuff!

So what will 2011 bring for me and The Pea Pod?...

These are a few of the things I want to achieve in the new year (I think if I note them here I may be forced to do them as you'll all be watching...)
1. Tackle my garden, creating a veggie patch , a flower garden and get myself some chickens.

2. Start my own website to sell my creations and a few retro/vintage bits and bobs.
3. Continue to make overpayments on my mortgage to reach my goal of being mortgage free
a.s.a.p.
4. Support my local independent shops more.

5. Finish off my house, with one big push I'm sure I can do it.

6. Start a daily sketch book diary and try to keep it going all year.
7. Learn to use my sewing machine properly.
8. Design a range of greetings cards to sell.
9. Try hard to reduce the amount of rubbish I send to landfill and try to recycle more.

10. Cook more of my meals from scratch - this should be helped by the veggie patch and
chickens, see it's all coming together already!!
11. Go camping a few times and go on a holiday where I learn a new skill.

  3. That is a pretty good list. All do-able. I would certainly buy your greeting cards. Your cottage is doing fine. Always looks so wonderful. Dorset is a nice place to camp, I plan to head to Devon a bit more if I can. I'll have to think of all what I would like to achieve in the new year. Hopefully no sad things. I could do with a few positive things to kick the new year off to a start.

    Take care xx

  4. Happy New Year Colette, I love Dorset and it had crossed my mind to head that way with the tent, I'll have to pick your brain for ideas nearer the time...as for Devon, that's where I used to live many years ago. You'll have a lovely time if you end up there. xx

  5. Oh god, I've just taken another look at this post...what a mess, honestly I wasn't drunk when I typed this post!

I fiddled with the coloured text and the size of text and the spacing for about an hour but for some reason blogger wouldn't save any of it and as a result you get the mess you see, sorry! Perhaps I can sneak in later and try some editing...

  7. Hello there - first time here but I can empathise with some of your 2011 intentions - I made only 3 but one was to sew! Nice to meet you,
