Merry Christmas from The Pea Pod

May I just say a very Merry Christmas to everyone who has taken the time to pop by The Pea Pod to read my ramblings and for all the wonderfully kind comments that have been left over the last year. I absolutely love reading them and I feel that I've found some true friends among you.
I hope that you've all had a lovely relaxing Christmas and that the new year will bring you all good luck, because you all truly deserve it...you lovely lot xx

This year I got off to a slow start getting in the Christmas mood. I had grand hopes of decorating the house from top to bottom and putting on a feast for Boxing day...this wasn't to be however.
I ran out of time due to this and that (I won't bore you with the details), this meant that on Christmas day morning I was mooching around the garden trying to find branches to use as a tree. I then had to get the hair dryer out to dry them enough to enable me to add some paint and chuck a few vintage baubles and lights on them. I think I kind of pulled it off!
I had my family around for Boxing day which was great, it was the first time I've entertained at my place. I think it went OK but since the 'do' I keep finding food that I forgot to put out on the feast table..oh well, I guess I'll just be eating buffet style food for the next month, no hardship there I think, mmmm

This has to be my best gift...a pair of hand made socks made by my mum. They're so snuggly and warm - cheers mum xx

  5. That sounds so like me - doing the decs actually on the day! This year it was wrapping the pressies, early hours of the morning.

Your illuminated mantelpiece looks amazing and atmospheric, and the last-minute.com tree is gorgeous!

Merry Christmas and a Spiffingly Great New Year! xx
