Playing with shrinking plastic
This morning I've been playing with shrinking plastic. A couple of months ago I bought myself a wonderful plastic brooch made in this way and so I thought I'd give it a go myself. I've used this product before but it was a disaster!!
So the first attempt was this little chap who was created to see the rate of shrinkage...he's tiny!
So then I tried making two images the same size to be used as earrings.
This is the size they were when they went into the oven.
This is the scary moment when they curl up and you can't help but think it's all going wrong.
But then they flatten themselves out...brilliant!
And here they are, not too bad on the size side of things and not bad for a playing session. I'll be doing more of this I think.
This is a definitely a fun thing to do with the little people too.
Wow, love that little fellow! Brooches??
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, I was thinking that and I've got a few more ideas for this stuff, it's great fun and quick too.
ReplyDeleteOh Wow love the little chap and those earrings are smashing. You are so clever. Happy baking, dee x
ReplyDeleteAwww cheers Dee, I got the idea for doing this from the very talented lady selling at your last fair. I bought one of her tea pot brooches and a lady one for my sister, I love them.
ReplyDeleteLove these ... I have this on my to do list ... the possibilities are endless ... Bee xx
ReplyDeleteHi Bee, it's so easy. Give it a go you'll have fun. I'm sitting here trying to think up things to use this for...I've got a few ideas x
