Petal Power exhibition at Chepstow.

On Sunday I managed to catch the last day of the Petal Power exhibition at Chepstow museum. The exhibition featured the work of women employed by the Silver Studio of design in London between 1910 and 1940.

Madeline Lawrence, Miss McPherson and Miss Koelher all worked for the Silver Studio in the 1920s and 1930s. Little is known about these three ladies but some of their wonderful designs have survived.
Have a look and see what you think.

Drawing the designs was a labour intensive job. The design would be hand drawn, traced several times and coloured by hand, often in different colour-ways depending on the clients brief.

This one is my favourite, I'd love a summer dress made with this fabric.

Even the little colour keys at the bottom of each design are neat.
